Deco Foil, Therm O Web and Brutus Monroe Share

Hi my scrappy peeps!  Therm O Web has teamed up with Brutus Monroe and we are all sharing our projects over on the Therm O Web blog.  I made a couple of cards that I wanted to share here today.

I made this card and totally did not take any step out photos!  I got so involved with coloring and trying not to mess up that I just forgot!

Supplies: Cardstock-Gina K Designs; Watercolor Paper-Strathmore 400 Series: Adhesive-Therm O Web; Sequins-Unknown: Wooden Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye; Foil-Deco Foil in Spring Green; Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheet-Branching Out; Circle Dies-My Favorite Things and Lawn Fawn; Ink-VersaFine Onyx Black; Stamp-Brutus Monroe; Markers-Zig Clean Color Real Brush

Now, I am going to say coloring just hasn't been my thing, but I really have been trying at it (not really showing anything unless I have too!)  It stresses me out and just is not relaxing for me.  I had bought a few of the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers back when they first came out and I ended up giving them to my bestie, Juliana Michaels, who can rock the coloring!  Then I decided I wanted to try again not long ago, so I ended up buying the entire set.  Honestly, I think it makes it easier for me to have every color, so I don't overthink how I am going to do something!

AND I even wrote down the colors I used!  LOL  Here's the list:
  • 64  Oatmeal
  • 92  Blue Grey
  • 97  Pale Grey
  • 70  Orange
  • 36  Light Blue
  • 31 Cobalt Blue
  • 68 Deep Brown
  • 45 Pale Green
The thing I found is that I need to use a paint brush with them and a little water.  It makes it easier for this "herculetta" to work with!  I tend to press hard when I write, color, etc and a very small paint brush makes it easier for me!

And here is my other card.  You can find full step outs over on the Therm O Web blog HERE.  I used Catherine Pooler inks for the background and stamping.  I think I love them!!

Supplies: Cardstock-Gina K Designs; Adhesive-Therm O Web; Deco Foil-Shatter Glass Silver; Deco Foil Transfer Gel; Doily-Unknown; Dies-Lawn Fawn: Stamps-Brutus Monroe; Sequins-Unknown; Twine-American Crafts; Ink-Verasfine Onyx Black and Catherine Pooler in Orange Twist, Aquatini; and Party Dress

I used the Brutus Monroe stencil with the Deco Foil transfer gel to create the silver dotted background.  I have to say, the transfer gel is one of my favorite ways to use Deco Foil!

That's all I have for you today.  Be sure to head over to the Therm O Web blog, there may be a giveaway, I am not sure!!!  Have a scrappy kind of day!

What Would You Want To See?

So, I posted this photo over on my Instagram account.  You can follow me on Instagram HERE.   And well, you should because I post cute dog pics, sneaks for things I am working on and random selfies! LOL

Yep, that's a tripod to start filming videos of my projects!  Now, I don't know how many videos I will do all the time, I am not going to promise any number a week!  And at first, it may only be one, every once in awhile or for Therm O Web's channel.  BUT I am doing this!  It's been a goal for awhile now, and Carleen got me a tripod beyond my dreams for Christmas so that I can do it!

What do you want to see?  How long of a video would you sit thru?  I am going to say, the videos will be sped up some, because I am slow when I am doing a project and I don't know of anyone that wants to sit thru a three hour video of me making a layout and rambling on!

I will also being mixing in screen captures, along with the project videos, for Silhouette tips, hybrid, etc.

So, let me know what you think, want to see, or any ideas you might have!!!  I have the lights, camera, and mic, so now it's ACTION time!!

Have a great Tuesday!

Hybrid Layouts for The Lilypad

Well, long time no blog.  I have found it so hard to sit down and just blog.  I am creating, not at the pace I was before Mom passed, but I am actually doing things and playing other than things that are due for my teams.

On to more fun stuff!!  I have a couple of layouts to share that I have done for The Lilypad this month.  This first one is over on the blog today, with me talking about why you don't need a fancy wide format printer or an electronic die cutting machine to do hybrid layouts that are not just pocket cards.  Don't get me wrong I LOVE my machines and would go out and buy them today if they broke on me!  But I want everyone to know that doing hybrid doesn't have to be hard if you don't want it to be!

Supplies: Paper-Red River; Digital Kit-Becca Bonneville Friend's Across the Miles; Ribbon-Gina K Designs; Adhesive-Therm O Web; Silhouette Cameo with Print and Cut; Doily-Doodlebug Designs

This layout came about from scraps from the next layout I will show you.  I am trying to get better about using up scraps of digital kits I have printed.  Let's face it, I usually print all the pattern papers in the kits!

This kit is actually "friend" themed, but if you know me, I like to use kits out of their original themes!  As I was putting this together, it screamed for a bow!  So, I put a bow on it....not quite a ring, but a bow!

And it's a twofer today, since I haven't blogged in so long and I had made another layout previously with this kit. This kit actually screamed to me to use it, because I miss my bestie Juliana!  And I had a picture of us, from when I went to visit, that I hadn't scrapped yet.  So everything kind of fell into place!

And all that "paint/stencil/mist" is an element in the digital kit that I sized to how I wanted it on my paper and then just printed it out.  I am sure that I couldn't get that look in real life with my supplies, no matter how much I tried!!  LOL

Supplies: Same as above

Here I had printed this flower element in a couple of sizes, so I just stacked the small one on top of the larger one with foam tape.  FYI, yes that is a margarita and no, I hadn't had too many!!  I was tired from being up at 4am and traveling!  LOL

I hadn't planned on using that little envelope, even though I had printed it.  At the last minute I got the idea to write on it and tuck it in behind the cluster! I kind of love how it looks!

Well, that's all for today!!!!  If you want to know a little more about hybrid without machines, head over to The Lilypad blog HERE to read my post!!

Therm O Web Blog Hop for Gina K Designs and a Giveaway!!

Hey there!!! It's new release day for Therm O Web and Gina K Designs and I have a fun card to share, plus details about a giveaways that you can enter to win!

There are three new Stamp n Foil collections, 3 new Fancy Foil colors and lots of Foil-Mates to play with in the new release.  I worked with the Butterfly Kisses collection, and added the Vibrant Vines Foil-Mates background to my card!
Supplies: All Therm O Web and Gina K Designs, except for Distress Oxide inks for background and doily.

Now, here is what you can win for the blog hop giveaway.  Just make sure to comment on all the blogs (there's not many, plus it gives you more chances to win! You can win the entire Butterfly Kisses collection of stamps, dies, detail sheets, the three new Fancy Foil colors, plus some adhesive!  It's value is over 85.00!! Woot!!   One blog will have a winner picked from the comments left.  How fun is that prize below?!!! Gina K will also be having her own giveaway and hop on her site as well.

For my card, I just inked four different colors of ink over the Foil-Mates background and then foiled after.  You always want to ink before you foil! Then I die cut some rectangles and stacked them, along with the ever famous doily.   That pink foil is the new Twinkling Pink color.
These are a great way to get into foiling if you don't have a laser printer!  You just need a laminator, the foil mate sheets, along with some foil, and you are good to go!

Here I used the Fancy Foils in Lilac on the yellow butterfly.  I also used what I call "the stamp off" technique (probably NOT the right term!), where I inked my stamp up, stamped once on another paper and then stamped on top of the detail sheet before foiling.  This made my butterfly body, not quite as a bright yellow.

Now, I bet you want that blog hop list right?!!  Well, here you go.  If you started here, you are going to want to go back and grab all the blogs you missed!

There are also other ways to win other prizes.  Like I said, this is a huge giveaway with multiple chances to win!

  • Therm O Web will be giving away the ENTIRE new release collection HERE.
  • Therm O Web Facebook page will have a giveaway of the Bloom Collection HERE
  • Therm O Web Instagram will have a giveaway of the Celebrate collection HERE
So get over there, like Therm O Web on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube and make sure to leave comments everywhere to win!!!  Thanks for hopping!

Maya Road Love

Thought I would share a couple of Maya Road projects that I have done the past couple of months.  Both are layouts, layouts are my jam when it comes to using the fun Maya Road embellishments!

This first one was just a pic of the dogs in the car!  Yes, I have lots of those pictures, because, well they love to go for a ride.  I will admit, it's hard to get a good pic at times, because of the way the front seats sit compared to the back!  You can see more of the products I used in my blog post HERE.

Supplies: Paper, Stamp, Die Cuts-American Crafts Hazelwood; Sequins-WeR Memory Keepers; Doily-Hobby Lobby: Felt-Taylor Expressions; Twine, Die Cuts (love/feathers/tags/hearts), Wooden Spools, Flowers, Wood Token, PomPom Ribbon, Metal Button-Maya Road; Adhesive-Therm O Web

I love to intermix "real" embellishments with paper ones!  It creates dimension, texture and makes me want to touch it!
I love using stripes to their advantage.  I played and played until I got the "love" die from Maya Road placed exactly the way I wanted before I cut this out.  I also used some washi tape just to hold the die in place, so that it wouldn't move going thru the cutter.

I used the "tag" dies from Maya to create this little stitched banner effect underneath the wooden spools.  The heart is just an added touch!

Then a couple of weeks ago, Maya Road had a blog swap with Simple Stories.  If you haven't seen all the projects both teams created you should check them out!  Amazing and beautiful to look at, plus chock full of ideas for your projects.  My blog post is HERE and has a couple more pictures.

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Washi Tape, Stickers, Tags, Brads-Simple Stories; Chipboard, Dies, Glassine Bag, Twine, Tickets, Flower, Sequin Tape-Maya Road; Doily-Hobby Lobby; Adhesive-Therm O Web; Paint-Ranger; Pencils-Prismacolor; Cardstock-American Crafts

When I found out I was getting the Surf's Up die set...I wondered what was I going to do with a flamingo and surfboard?!  Well, out came the zoo pics of flamingos and a layout was born!

And here I covered a chipboard piece with the washi tape in the collection.  I painted the outside of the frame with some acrylic paint and then popped the center out and covered with washi.  It's a new way to cover chipboard for me!

Again, using stripes to my advantage, but I didn't want the "love" to blend in.  So, I used some of the sequin tape that Maya Road has and trimmed the sequins to fit!  And the colors worked well with the layout!

Well, that's all from me today, two projects with lots of pics!  I love that it's a short week this week,   because I really haven't been in the mood to work.  I think it's just one of those things!  Have a great day!

Sharing a Few Digital Layouts

Long time, no blog huh?  It's been a little overwhelming and a little of "I don't want to do anything" here lately.  I haven't felt like "writing" although I have been creating some.  Some things just seem harder to do than others.

I LOVE to blog, it's just been hard since Mom passed.  It's like I cannot focus or collect my thoughts.  I have thought about starting another blog (right oxymoron!) about that journey and dealing with things.  I just haven't done it yet.  And I don't know if I will keep it private or make it public, that is to be determined later.

I thought I would share a few digital layouts here today, just to try to get me back in the swing of blogging.  These are all projects I have done for The Lilypad, usually for releases that happened in the week I did them or for a challenge that was in the forum.

This layout was using the April BYOC (Build Your Own Collection) at The Lilypad.  I love the Scrapping with Liz template that I used and I will be definitely using it with my traditional and hybrid layouts!

Supplies: Amber Labau (Inside Your World Paper and Elements); Mommyish (Feeling Fresh Papers and Elements); One Little Bird (Between Us Papers, Elements Journal Cards); Scrapping With Liz Template (Tags and Letters)

This next page is another BYOC layout for the template challenge that was in the forum.  I used the June 2017 BYOC for this.

Supplies: Fiddle Dee Dee Designs (Fiddlesticks #22); One Little Bird (Origin Kit); Mommyish (Succulent-Elements); Etc. by Danyale (Morse Code Paints); Lynne-Marie (Outdoor Bundle)

This next one, well I couldn't WAIT to scrap pics from our photo shoot with April of Turn Studios!  She had a mini farmhouse session and we took advantage of it.  Lots of cute pics to scrap!  Jetson's face is just priceless here!

Supplies:  Fiddle Dee Dee Designs (Can't Stop Laughing Dressed Up Template); One Little Bird (Heartbeat at My Feet Kit and Journal Cards)

It's so much easier to "change" my style when I do a digital layout!  LOL  This layout is a fairly clean and simple one for me.  A template from Scrapping with Liz helped guide the way.  Had I done this in hybrid, you know me, I would have been adding a ton of stuff on!

Supplies: Scrapping With Liz (All About The Frames Template); Kristen Aagard Designs (Goofball Create Crate Add-On)

Well. I think I am going to leave this post right here and start enjoying the day.  It felt good to write, even if it was just to share some layouts.  Have a fun and safe weekend!  I am hoping to be back this week with some paper layouts for you!

Therm O Web and Girl Charlee Collide

Well, even though I haven't really shown anything, I have been sewing some.  I actually had my first sewing "project" for Therm O Web's blog a week or so ago.  They teamed up with Girl Charlee fabrics and I was excited to get in on the fun.

I worked with the Bolt by Girl Charlee line.  I did get to pick out my fabrics, so I picked a couple that went together.  My original idea was a tank with a cardigan, but then I just decided to make an outfit with a maxi skirt and a shirt!

I don't want to bore you with all the details (especially since you are probably here for scrappy inspiration), so you can find the details on the Therm O Web blog HERE. Therm O Web has came out with a new HeatnBond Soft Stretch for knits that is amazing!!!  I used the hem tape and then also some of the interfacing and it was love at first use!!

And if you cannot tell, I am obsessed with my twin needle for finishing!  The shirt is the Sweet Tee pattern from Patterns for Pirates.  I added the stripes and the pocket.  But I love how it turned out!  The skirt is the Mama Chloe maxi skirt from Made for Mermaids.  If you join their Facebook group, you can get the skirt pattern for free with a code that is in the group.

I even wore this to work!  It was pretty darn comfy, almost like wearing pjs!  Be sure to check out the Girl Charlee fabrics also.  They have lots of fun prints.  I will say the fabrics I worked with are a lightweight knit, but that' perfect for me, because I can get hot easily!!!  Have a great Wednesday!
